5 FASHION TIPS LEARNED FROM MY MUM

Happy birthday mum!! There was no post on Wednesday as I was preparing this special one today, but from next week, back to the normal schedule, Wednesday morning and Sunday afternoon!

So for today I am thanking my mum for everything she has offered and shared with me throughout the years. Mum has taught me endless things since I was little, but I decided to share with you 5 of the most important fashion lessons she gave me.

1. Quality - always buy high quality pieces. They will last so much longer and they will not change in shape when you wash them. Also, the material will be more flattering on your body.

2. Sizing - never go smaller than your size! Maybe you can go 1-2 sized bigger if your figure allows oversized clothes, but don't exaggerate with this either. Also, don't wear only tight or only baggy things. Try to balance your outfit to have the right proportions.

3. Basic investments - invest in basics! These are the ones that you will still use in 5 years. Which are the basics? I will talk more about basics in another post, but here are some examples: white/black/grey t-shirt, black blazer, tailored trousers, trench coat, plain leather boots, little black dress.

4. Don't exaggerate with colours - of course, you can still be creative, but don't mix blue, green, red and yellow, all in the same outfit. There's a rule that says there should be only 3 colours in one outfit. Maybe 3 is too little in some situations, mainly when you have neutrals. Just experiment and see what is pleasant for the eyes.

5. Stay straight and walk with confidence
